Ovens lose more than 20% of heat in the absence of a proper seal. Consequently, the food cooks unevenly or takes longer than usual. Hence, we need to check the seal’s condition by opening the oven door and locating the fiberglass gasket or rubber around the perimeter of the door. Search or try to locate any deformed, torn or broken areas and then close the door to locate any leaks. Replace the seal incase of any deformities or damage.

TV

Sometimes, the lifespan of your television can depend on the temperature in the room. A very hot room can severely affect the lifespan. High brightness in the TV can increase the chances of exhausting the light emitters. Accordingly, tailor the brightness according to the room light, but still do not let it be too high. You can use curtains and blinds to reduce the light in your room.

Lastly, always use a voltage regulator if you experience power fluctuations in your area. Irregular power can damage a TV.

Always soak your drip bowls in a cleaning solution for 5 minutes after removing them from burner elements. Clean your drip bowls after spills. You might have to replace these bowls if the spills burn into the bowls.

Refrigerator

Always check the refrigerator coils as dust, dirt or even pet hair could clog it. This could restrict the airflow and make your refrigerator work harder to stay cool. At least, once a year clean the coils and get rid of any dust particles. Most refrigerator coils lie behind the kickplate or at the rear of the refrigerator.

Also, always keep an eye on the rubber gasket which seals in the cold air in a refrigerator. A falsy seal will lead to the cold air escaping and your fridge working harder to compensate for the loss. Hence, increasing electricity bills.

If water filters do not efficiently clean and remove the impurities or contaminants, this could expose us to harmful substances in drinking water. Changing the water filter varies according to models, however, in most one can turn the filter around a quarter inch and pop it out or lock it in place. Hence, instructions for all these models are almost the same. Depending on the water usage, check the water filter every 6-8 months.
