Sony has announced a three-tiered PlayStation Plus subscription service with over 700 games

SIE has been at the forefront of game subscription services innovation since the debut of PlayStation Plus in 2010. We were ecstatic to debut PlayStation Plus, the first console membership programme that includes a renewed library of titles, as well as PlayStation Now, the first console game streaming service. We’re excited to share formal news regarding upcoming changes to our subscription services with you today. We’re combining PlayStation Plus as well as Play-Station Now in an all-new PlayStation Plus subscription service in June, giving users greater options across three membership tiers throughout the world.

PlayStation Plus Essential will be the initial tier, and it will be identical to the present Play-Station service. All of the same perks apply, including two downloaded games each month, online multiplayer access, cloud saves, as well as discounts. The prices will stay the same at $10 per month, $25 per quarter, and $60 per year. This tier will be transferred to all existing Play-Station subscribers.

The service’s two new premium levels, Extra and Premium, will function similarly to the Xbox Game Pass, giving customers access to hundreds of PS games. At launch, Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal will be included in the two subscriptions, according to Sony. This game collection will be “frequently updated.”

They are rolling out the new Play-Station product in phases across the country because this is such a large launch. They will start with a launch in many Asian regions in June, followed by North America, Europe, and the rest of the world where PlayStation Plus is available. By the end of the first half of 2022, we want to have our new PlayStation Plus game subscription service online in the majority of PlayStation Network territories.  They also want to expand our cloud streaming advantage to other areas, and we will share more information at a later time.

There will be additional modifications as well.
