If you’re not familiar with Samsung jargon, QLED refers to an LCD panel that contains quantum dot molecules illuminated by an LED local-dimming array. Samsung is now using Mini LED, which is 1/40 the height of a standard LED, in their 2021 flagship TVs. These small LEDs are in thin microlayers in a matrix. “Ultra-fine and precise management of the tightly packed LEDs, eliminating blooming—and allowing spectators to experience the material as it’s suppose to be seen,” says the Quantum Matrix system. This “increases the brightness scale to 12-bit with 4096 steps,” allowing for improved contrast and HDR experience. You may also anticipate improved screen uniformity.
