Launch of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, 12S Pro, and 12S featuring Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC

On Monday, Xiaomi introduced its newest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, 12S Pro, and 12S. All three variants in the Xiaomi 12S series include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which was launched in May. Leica lenses are also included with the devices. The Chinese business also unveiled the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition, a new smartphone powered by MediaTek Dimensity, and the Mi Smart Band 7 Pro, a new fitness-tracking wristband, in addition to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, as well as the Xiaomi 12S.

Starting at CNY 4,699 (about Rs. 55,400), the Xiaomi 12S Pro is available in 8GB + 128GB configuration. The smartphone is also available in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants, each costing CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 58,900), CNY 5,399 (approximately Rs. 63,700), and the top-end 12GB + 512GB model, costing CNY 5,899 (about Rs (roughly Rs. 69,500).

The Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition was introduced by the firm in addition to the Xiaomi 12S series. It was priced at CNY 3,999 (about Rs. 47,100) for the 8GB + 128GB version and CNY 4,499 (approximately Rs (roughly Rs. 53,100).

China’s sale of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will begin on July 8, while that of the Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12S will begin on July 6. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition will start selling on July 12.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Xiaomi 12S Pro has a 6.73-inch 2K (1,440×3,200 pixels) curved AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and DCI-P3 colour gamut, and it runs MIUI 13 on top of Android. Additionally, the display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The Xiaomi 12S Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and can support up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Additionally, the phone sports three back cameras, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 main sensor and an OIS-compatible f/1.8 lens. A 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom are also included in the camera arrangement.

The Xiaomi 12S Pro has a 32-megapixel front camera sensor with an f/2.4 lens up front for taking selfies and video calls. Also, the Xiaomi 12S Pro has UFS 3.1 storage with a maximum capacity of 256GB.

The Xiaomi 12S Pro provides 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, an IR blaster, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connector in terms of connectivity. Moreover, An accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are some of the onboard sensors. Additionally, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Also, it has 4,600mAh battery within the Xiaomi 12S Pro supports 120W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Moreover, this phone is available in glass and leather finishes; the glass shell weighs 204 grams and measures 163.6×74.6×8.16 mm. The leather variant weighs 203 grams and measures 163.6×74.6×8.66 mm.
