Lenovo’s Yoga laptop lineup has featured a 2-in-1 option for several years. The latest iteration brings Intel Core Ultra H-series processors, OLED displays, and improved battery life to the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 variant, now also equipped with a dedicated Copilot key, making it an AI-enabled laptop.
After using the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 for over a week, here’s my take on this convertible laptop. While I’m generally not a fan of convertibles—whether laptops or cars—the Yoga 7i presents a compelling case for those seeking the dual functionality of a laptop and a tablet.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is positioned in the mid-to-high price range. It starts at Rs. 1,01,990 for the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H CPU variant, featuring a 14-inch OLED display with WUXGA resolution and 16GB RAM. This is the variant I reviewed.
Other configurations include the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU with the same 14-inch OLED WUXGA display and 16GB RAM, priced at Rs. 1,19,990. There’s also a higher-end option with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, a 2.8K OLED display, and 32GB RAM for Rs. 1,29,990. All variants come with integrated Intel Arc graphics and two color options—Tidal Teal and Storm Grey. The package includes the Lenovo Digital Pen and a 65W charger. I received the Tidal Teal variant.
Design and Display
The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 features an all-aluminum design with curved edges and rounded corners, avoiding any sharp edges. The minimalist design includes a small Lenovo logo and Yoga branding on the lid. The 360-degree hinge, now reduced in size, allows easy one-hand opening, aided by a reverse notch for the webcam, IR sensor, and microphone. The hinge feels durable and provides a slight lift for better cooling in laptop mode.
Port-wise, the laptop includes a microSD card slot, a USB Type-A (USB 3.2) port, an HDMI 2.1 port, dual Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports, and a combo headphone port. The right-side placement of the power button can be inconvenient, as I often pressed it unintentionally.
The bottom of the laptop has large cooling grilles and rubber feet. The laptop is 1.49kg in weight and 16.64mm at its thinnest, with a design rated to withstand 21 MIL-STD 810H durability tests. The construction feels solid, with no flex in the lid or back cover.
The 14-inch OLED display offers 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The glossy panel provides 400 nits of brightness and 600 nits peak HDR brightness, making it suitable for indoor use but less so outdoors. The display supports multi-touch and includes a Lenovo Digital Pen 2 for stylus use. It’s Dolby Vision HDR certified and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, with an optional 2.8K PureSight OLED variant offering a 120Hz refresh rate.
In tablet mode, the touch input is excellent, though the laptop’s bulk makes it less comfortable for extended handheld use. Tent mode is useful but directs the speakers away from the user.
Keyboard, Speakers, Touchpad, and Camera
The keyboard on the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is excellent, benefiting from Lenovo’s ThinkPad experience. It offers good key travel, tactile feedback, and adequate spacing. There’s a dedicated Copilot key for quick chatbot access, and the backlit keyboard adjusts brightness based on the environment.
The speakers, placed on either side of the keyboard, offer decent sound quality but are not loud. Their positioning becomes less effective in tablet or tent mode, necessitating headphones in noisy environments.
The large touchpad supports multi-touch gestures on Windows 11, with smooth surface and responsive clicks. The touchpad and keyboard disable automatically in tablet mode.
The full-HD webcam, with a privacy shutter, delivers good video quality and includes AI features like Windows Studio effects and smart gestures. The notch housing the webcam also supports facial login via Windows Hello.
Specifications and Software
The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is well-equipped, available with Intel Core Ultra 5 125H or Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPUs, paired with integrated Intel Arc graphics. It offers up to 32GB LPDDR5X-7467 RAM and up to 1TB NVMe storage, both soldered and non-upgradable.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The laptop runs Windows 11 Home and includes Office Home and Student 2021. Lenovo’s software suite includes AI Engine+, Windows Studio Effects, Smart Noise Cancellation, and Lenovo Vantage for system customization.
Performance
The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 performs well for daily tasks, content consumption, and some creative work. I encountered no major issues during my usage, though I did not run intensive AI programs or games. Multitasking is smooth, especially in tablet mode, and the cooling system effectively manages heat. Occasionally, the laptop ran hot and activated the fan without any active programs, likely due to a Windows 11 bug.
Battery Life
The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 has impressive battery life, courtesy of its 71Whr battery. It consistently delivered a full day of use with varied tasks. The included 65W charger supports fast charging, reaching 80% in 30 minutes and a full charge in 1.5 hours.
