Sony Bravia XR Line Extended With Quantum Dot OLED and Mini LED TVs at CES 2022

The Sony 2022 TV portfolio includes an improved XR processor, which promises to increase picture processing capability across 4K OLED TVs, a QD-OLED TV, and the brand’s first Sony Bravia XR Line Mini LED TV.

Will any of these televisions be the finest of the year? The Sony A95K QD-OLED, which is slated to compete with the Samsung S95B OLED TV with next-generation technology, has received the most attention. But that’s not all: the X95K 4K Mini LED boasts advanced lighting management, while the 42-inch A90K Master Series is an appealing alternative to a gaming monitor.

In terms of gameplay, the PS5 will be able to recognise each particular Sony TV model and change HDR settings properly with the new Sony 2022 TVs. Depending on the type of material being played on the PS5, the Bravia XR processor will be able to convert between game mode and standard mode automatically. Are you enjoying Gran Turismo 7? Mode of play. Do you have a 4K Blu-ray player? Game Mode is disabled. There’s no need to go into the settings and mess with them.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Sony 2022 TVs and their Availability

Sony Bravia XR A95K QD-OLED TV

When compared to standard OLED, Sony’s A95K QD-OLED features XR Triluminos Max colour processing, which promises to display the complete range of colours even in the brightest settings. Sony removed white phosphor from its televisions, ensuring that even the brightest pictures have no colour dilution.

As a result, Sony plans to use its own basic colour shift technology to generate richer greens and reds. The A95K adds a quantum dot layer over the OLED array, similar to Samsung’s QD-OLED. This should result in enhanced light and colour distribution from each individual pixel throughout the panel, resulting in a brighter image without affecting black levels.

It’s all about picture processing with Sony once again. Its OLEDs will use CPXR, a depth control technique that makes objects look more realistic in 3D space. It should maintain positioning while not over-sharpening background objects. It will be available from June 2022.

Sony Bravia XR X95K Mini LED TV

Sony is introducing a little LED this year. Sony’s XR Blacklight Master Drive technology promises enhanced controls over the whole image while reducing zone visibility. Because Mini LEDs are so bright, the little individual zones set out on a grid might become apparent, making image edges seem blocky or even blowing out details.

Traditional algorithms may just cut brightness across the board to prevent these grids from showing through, but Sony says that its XR Backlight Master Drive can intelligently regulate Mini LED power to limit individual zone visibility. It is available now.

Sony Master Series Z9K 8K Mini LED TV

This year, Sony’s second Mini LED TV is an 8K model. We still don’t recommend buying an 8K TV because of the limited material available, but the Z9K has a lot to offer in terms of big-screen sizes as well as promised upscaling.  It will be available from Summer 2022.

Sony 2022 4K OLED TVs

The Sony 2022 4K OLED TVs are divided into two models: the Master Series A90K for smaller screens and the Bravia XR A80K for bigger screens. When compared to the Bravia model, the Master Series model features a few improvements, such as contrast enhancement.  It will be available from June-July 2022.
